Celebrating endurance and community spirit in Strandhill
There was an electric buzz across the coastal village of Strandhill, Co. Sligo, as runners, supporters and local families gathered for the landmark 40th Warriors Run. More than 1,300 participants took on the challenge of Sligo’s rugged landscape, supported by the crowds lining the route.
Among them was our own CEO at BCR Comply, Sean Clancy, who crossed the finish line for his 11th consecutive year, recording a time of 1:22:54. It was an incredible celebration of endurance, commitment and the community spirit that makes this event so special.

From Strandhill to Knocknarea’s summit
The Warriors Run route combines road, trail and the demanding ascent of Knocknarea. Starting from Strandhill’s seafront, runners settle into their rhythm before the climb tests both physical stamina and determination.
At the summit, the route loops around Queen Maeve’s Cairn, with views over Sligo and the Atlantic coastline. Then comes the fast, challenging descent and the return to the village, where cheering spectators help carry competitors towards the finish. Completing that journey once is an achievement; returning year after year takes lasting dedication.
Grit, determination and local pride
As a team based in Sligo, we are proud to celebrate Sean’s achievement and the people who make the Warriors Run possible. The runners, volunteers, supporters and local community all contribute to an event that brings people together through a shared challenge.
Sean’s 11-year streak reflects values we recognise in our own work: preparation, perseverance and a commitment to seeing things through. At BCR Comply, we bring that approach to helping teams manage retrofit projects and compliance, supporting the delivery of energy upgrades across Ireland.
From the climb up Knocknarea to the day-to-day work of coordinating a project, meaningful results depend on sustained effort and teamwork. Congratulations to Sean and everyone who took part in this milestone Warriors Run.
